Make Unique Template Page for CPT

I would like to use a different template for the archive page of some of my CPT’s. I’m using beaver builder. I tried making a new page and then selecting that page as the template at GD>Settings>Post Types>Edit CPT>Archive Page. But, the page would not loud correctly when I tried.

Do I have to use Beaver Themer? I noticed the archive page doesn’t have the beaver builder edit option. So, does Beaver Themer create a different type of page somehow? Is a template page different than a regular page?

When I go to edit the archive page with beaver builder I just can’t. I get a warning of sorts to use Beaver Themer. Beaver Themer creates a separate section for theme pages I think. That kind of scares me because I already don’t really want to depend on Beaver Builder that much. But, maybe if someone can explain it to me I’ll understand it better and not be intimidated by doing this.

I essentially would like to change the Archive page for some of my CPT’s. Please share what you know about this. I read through some of the documentation but it didn’t really click. I even watched the Beaver Themer video but that was really more about how it worked, not how GD works…
