It is clear now about updating the plugins. I synced the login information on the Audoupdates page with the forum credentials, and the update of the GeoDirectory Location Manager plugin worked.
However, on the “Manage Place Custom Fields” page the new field (Contact name) is still not saved. The fieldset field (Contact) is saved, but not the field itself.
Please see the attached two screen shots. The first one shows part of the field creation page before saving. The second one shows the Manage Place Custom Fields page after saving. When I click on the “Save” button in the field creation page, nothing happens.
March 25, 2015 at 7:44 pm #35221Hi,
just tried twice.
1st time failed and the browser console was giving a 404 error for some reason.
2nd time it went through.
I suspect there could be something wrong in the server configuration.
If it’s ment to return 404 it would always fail.
Let us know,
Thx
March 26, 2015 at 6:35 pm #35317Great. The Contact Name now appears in the “Places” new and editing areas.
I tried adding the next custom field “Contact Position,” and had the same problem as before. See the attached screen shot. Please add this for me.
March 26, 2015 at 7:43 pm #35331You should really ask for support to your server admin, saying tht ajax calls are randomly failing and returning 404.
It’s not save to use a server like that. Once fixed, you will finally be able to add all custom fields you want.
Thanks
March 27, 2015 at 1:51 pm #35375Thanks. I have submitted a support ticket about this to my hosting service.
March 31, 2015 at 8:04 pm #35739The hosting service seems to have fixed the problem with the Ajax calls.
The next issues we need to tackle are how to re-configure the GeoDirectory display in order to make it more user friendly. I have attached a specification that will lay out the issues in detail. I look forward to your detailed instructions on how to implement the changes we need.
March 31, 2015 at 9:12 pm #35743Hi Paul,
PDF was too big to get attached.
Re-configure the GeoDirectory display in order to make it more user friendly, sounds like a customization to me.
If that’s the case, you should provide the PDF with your requirements to anyone you hire to redesign the plugin for you.
Re-designing the plugin goes beyond support.
Thanks
March 31, 2015 at 9:50 pm #35751I do not think it is a re-design, but rather a re-configuration. I would like you to see the specs, so that you can confirm if this is so. Can you provide me with an email address, so I can send you the .pdf?

April 1, 2015 at 3:32 pm #35821Hi Paul,
all requests in that file are for modifying how the plugin currently work.
That is beyond support and not a service we provide.
You will need to hire a developer to accomplish that.
Thanks
April 1, 2015 at 3:49 pm #35829Thanks for reviewing the spec. Can you recommend a developer qualified to take on this work, or point us in a direction to find one?

April 9, 2015 at 7:39 pm #36709Is it possible to export the data from the plugin?
April 9, 2015 at 7:41 pm #36711Currently only via database exports.
We will provide a import/export tool in the future, but we haven’t started creating it yet and I can’t anticipate when we will.
Thanks
