I forget how to do this:
GDV1: I have all event categories in the main menu as a dropdown in navigation under ‘Events’ (all).

When I try to do the same thing I can’t get them under ‘Places (all). That’s because I have a category ‘Events’. But there isn’t one for ‘Places’. If I create one, then put the categories under it as sub categories, when I follow the link ‘all places’ are not there if click ‘places’. But if I click the actual default ‘Places’ then all place listings are below.

I’ve done this before ages ago but can’t sort it this time.
    Thanks,
    Sue

If you want to add category archive links to the menu you can easily find them all in the GeoDirectory Endpoints section of the WP Backend menu editor at

    WP – Appearance – Menus

If you don’t see if try opening the screen options at the top right to reveal it.

    Facts:
Category links are available in the menu options.
All parent categories ‘contain’ that items in their child categories.
We have a page about navigation: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/navigation/

Thanks. I realised it was the screen options just before you replied. I had a mental block! It was a ‘doh!’ moment. 😉 No idea how I forgot that.

However, the Geodirectory endpoints box (edit menus) is not there although the WooCommerce one is. See attached.

    I have it sorted now.
    All the best,
    Sue

    Sorted?
If not, and you can’t see the GD Endpoints, then please share WP Admin and we will take a look.

Yes, I did say it was sorted at the bottom of my message. You must have missed it. Thanks, Alex.

However I was puzzled that the GD Endpoint box was not actually visible as per my attached screenshot in the previous post. Take a look.

Once I could see the categories it’s easy to add them to the navigation menu, which I did. (Occasionally when you don’t do things often enough you forget simple procedures!)
