I saw this – “NEW – Guest Add Listing” listed on WordPress.org as one of the features. How do you enable this?

I would like people to submit listings without creating, or having an account created.

    Thanks,

    Susan

    Hi Susan,

Thanks for your post. You can use the “Allow posting without logging in?” option to achieve this https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/account-management/#gd . I hope it helps.

    Thanks Kor,

I have tested this but unfortunately it also creates a user account.

    1. I would like people to submit listings without creating, or having an account created. Can this be done?

For example, I use the Event Calendar plugin for another site, and with the Community Events plugin (https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-community-events/) anyone can submit their events without an account being created.

    2. I was testing this out, and it doesn’t seem like the WP user/subscriber that is created can actually do anything anyway. Am I missing something?

    thanks,

    Susan

    Hi Susan,

Thanks for your reply and I apologize for overlooking this post.

    1. Sorry, this can’t be done. Every listing must belong to a user.

    2. Not sure what you mean by this. What did you test?

    Hi Kor,

I added a listing on the front end (different browser, logged out, using a different email address.) When I logged in as that user it didn’t appear that I could do anything other than change my personal info (name/email/bio).

Is a new subscriber(created by adding a listing) able to do anything else? I want to limit access, that is why I am asking.

I assume that the Claim Listings add-on will give more access, but right now I am not using this.

    Thanks,

    Susan

    Hello,

when a user adds a listing, their account is marked as the author and they can edit the listing.

You can use GD Author Actions in the details page sidebar to show that logged in user a link to edit the post on the frontend.

Use GD Dashboard in a footer to give users a link to find their listings.

Users UsersWP to create beautiful profile with author listings easily accessible with one click to edit.
