    Hi,

I have just installed GeoDirectory, along with many of the add-on features.

I will be setting up a directory as a sub-section of my site (i.e. the GeoDirectory root will be located at mysite.com/directory/). I have already configured the GD Home Page (and altered the page name and slug) to reflect this.

My site uses the Valenti theme (https://themeforest.net/item/valenti-wordpress-hd-review-magazine-news-theme/5888961)

I was initially having problems with the Google Maps API, and figured it might be a conflict with some other plugin, my site theme, or the fact that I’m using Google DFP on my site. So I switched from using the Google Maps API to using OpenStreetMap API.

I can see the map when I go to add a location in the MultiLocations setting.

    I have configured 2 locations.

I installed dummy data (30 places and a few events).

I am having some issues. I know that some of this is caused by conflict(s) with other installed plug-ins. However, some is not.

With all my usual plug-ins activated:

When I look at the Places Categories and the Event categories, I can see the map pin icons.

However, if I try to add a new category, nothing happens if I click on the “Upload Image” button (either the Default Listing Image button or the Category Icon button).

If I try to add a new Place via the admin area, the Add New Place page is not functioning properly. I only see a text box to add the new Place name, and the usual WordPress text editor (but I cannot actually click and enter text). On the sidebar, I see only Place Package Settings, Place Claim Settings, and Publish (but it will only let me save it as a draft, no option to publish. I don’t see any of the other sections, such as Place Information, Custom Fields, etc.

When I go to the directory home page, I see the individual listings. However, the big map does not load. In addition, where the categories are listed, the category icons are not loading (I instead see the alt text for the icons).

If I go into an individual listing, the flexslider is not loading (I am just seeing the fa-spin icon).

The listing map is not loading, and the sidebar map is not loading.

In addition, the tabs (Photo, Map, Reviews, Related Listings) are not clickable. If I click on any of them it does not do anything.

I have Autoptimize running on my site, and I have configured it per https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/autoptimize-settings/.

I do not have any caching plugins running on my site. I am, however, using CloudFlare for caching. I have set up page rules within CloudFlare to bypass caching for the directory page, anything under the directory page, as well as /places/ and places/*

I have flushed the CloudFlare cache and tried disabling Autoptimize.

    When I disable all non-GeoDirectory plug-ins:

The individual listing pages seem to behave normally (flex slider functions, see the map, tabs work correctly, etc.).

However, the main Directory Page map still does not load, and neither do the map icons.

When I go to create a new Place from the admin area, I see all the expected sections (Place Information, Listing Transactions, Custom Fields, etc.).

I know I have some troubleshooting ahead of me to determine which plug-in(s) are interfering with the functionality that is fixed when those plug-ins are disabled.

However, that does leave the other issues above which still do not work when all other plug-ins are disabled.

Any guidance or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    UPDATE —

After a lot of troubleshooting, I discovered that Autoptimize and WP Deferred Javascript were both breaking the flexslider, map, and tab functionality. When I have these 2 disabled, all works as expected.

In addition, these 2 plug-ins were the cause of my Google Maps errors. I was able to get Google Maps, the cluster markers, etc. working.

In addition, a different plug-in in particular was breaking the Add Places page interface.

Somewhere in the process of disabling plug-ins, the “upload image” buttons in the category configuration pages became functional again. I was able to go and re-assign the map icons to the respective categories.

So, now I just need to see if I can get Autoptimize and WP Deferred Javascript to work with GeoDirectory (or find an alternative solution), and look into the other plug-in that is breaking the Add Place page functionality.

    Hi Paul,

Glad that you sorted it out yourself. We have tested Autoptimize and it’s compatible with GD if you’ve followed the configuration that is mentioned in this article https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/autoptimize-settings/ . So, I suspect it is either caused by this “WP Deferred Javascript” plugin or other non-gd plugins. Please take note that GD booster is not compatible with Autoptimize. Well, update us your results and if you need us to check further, kindly provide WP temp admin access.

    Thanks!
