    Hi,

I am quite new to WP and GeoDirectory, please kindly help with the below. If there’s some place else that I should ask this, please let me know.

    Link: http://852music.directory/

    1. On individual listing page:
    A) how to not have date shown on the header photo?
    B) How to change the font of the wordings? How to completely not have any text on the head photo?

    2. Address – there are so many Hong Kongs, we only need one. But not allowed to leave blank the city/countries in backend. How to eliminate the duplicates?

    3. Despite looking around the forum, still cannot set the map. Pop up message says the address must be within Hong Kong, and the listings’ address are all within HK but the map doesn’t recognise that. Sometimes the map marker would jump to some random place in the city which is not correct. How to fix this map issue?

    4. Menu buttons – our site is simple, just need to show the 4 types of listings. How do we link the menu buttons so only the corresponding listing show up when pressing the menu buttons?

    5. Adding listings – for the public viewer to add listing – how to make that option to be at the footer on the site? (instead of on the top menu)

    6. How to change the wordings “add place” to something else?

    7. “502 bad gateway” message when adding listing URL prefix.

Thank you very much in advance for the help.

    Welcome

1A. The date is put there by the theme you are using. There might be a theme setting, or you could ask the theme developer.

1B. Again, the title etc is put there by your theme which is adding the post title. You can change some of these things by CSS as well, this would give you a start:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/

    2. Addresses need to follow Google’s API: city – region – country. If you have duplicates, you can merge them: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-merge-locations/

    3. You will need to enable the Location Manager addon. Without that your listings can only be in your default location.

    4. Do you mean 4 custom post types or 4 categories?
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#navigation

    5. Add a link to /add-listing in a footer widget.

    6. If you use the Custom Post Type addon, you can change that at GD > Custom Post types > Place post type
    Alternatively, you can translate: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/translate-core/

    7. 502 is a server error usually. Try clearing all caches.

Let us know how you went.

    7.

As regards to question 4, I meant 4 custom post types. So instead of just Places, I want the 4 menu buttons on the top to link directory to listings that show only the respective listings.

Right now Design > Navigation > Show listing link in main navigation

I can only select Place. How do I create the 4 “music” custom post types?

    Thank you very much.

Sorry, with more research, I realize I meant 4 categories.

I just need the 4 top menu buttons (teachers, venues, products, services) to correspond to the 4 categories under the default “Place”

    Is that possible?

    THank you very much.

    8. I have just downloaded geodir_location_manager. This is probably very basic question.. what do I do with the files?

    9. Do I need to pay extra for the “multilocations”?

    4. Just go to Appearance > menus and add the relevant links manually.
ALso, go to GD > design > navigation and remove or add what you like.

    9. https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/buying-addons-and-support/

Feel free to ask any questions if you get stuck.

    8. and 9. Thank you. Now it’s installed and activated.

    4. Appearance > Menu. I can’t see the 4 categories from “Pages”. Is “Custom Links” the only way?

    Thank you.

    4) In apparance >> menu you can click screen options (top – right) and include places categories.

That will allow you to select any top level category as a new menu item

Otherise you can add them as custom links.

Let us know if we can set this as resolved.

    Thanks
