Hi .. i’m running a small town community website.. it consist of 4 major services
    1- Business directory
    2- Events list and calender
    3- Interest groups
    4- collective blog

all the services are front-end published and managed by buddypress, and other plugins that together make the other services than business directory GD works.

I used your support forum few times.. and every time I got a real professional service which makes me think I should really consider rebuilding the website to make it all work under GeoDirectory.. but I need your advice on what will work for me .. will send you the website link and other plugins i’m using details and you are welcome to create a user to assist if what’s offered now can be done by GD alone

The website is still experimental .. i’m aiming to connect other small towns around on different domains but into one central database ( main website that allow search in all of them )

is that also doable by GD ?

and About subscription .. if I use the 4 or 6 months option .. does that mean I can use all of your addons only during this period .. or can I keep using it after this time ? .. and if after the subscription period ends I would probably know by then which plugins I need to use and keep support option for .. would buying individual plugins comes with support for only these plugins or all other ones ?

Thank you for the great work you are doing .. and that goes to the programming team first : ) .. then to all of you .. you got a real cool product out there!

    Hi Omar,

GD was built for such sites, the only problem i could see is buddypress, i think there are a few small bugs between GD and BP but we have it as a task to resolve these.

For actual booking at the moment you would have to use a 3rd party booking plugin but we are looking into this.

For people to list on your site there are several payment methods, i am unsure which work in South Africa. They are:
    Paypal
Google Wallet (soon to be retired by google)
    Authorize.net
    Worldpay
    2CO (2Checkout)
Pre Bank Transfer (basically u show u bank details so they can manually transfer)
    Stripe

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

    Thank you Stiofan

1- what are the problems with buddypress to expect ? .. is it something one can live with ? is there an alternative to buddypress that will work ? .. and is GD looking into integrating a better user management system.. because I think if you achieve that your plugin would be a complete one solution

2- what 3rd party booking plugin you would recommend that you know it will work nicely with GD ?

3- regarding the second part of my email .. is it possible to run different towns on different subdomains and makes them searchable within one database ?

4- Can I still use the plugins i downloaded after the subscription period end ?

    Thanks

    Hi Omar,
#1 I am not sure exactly i just see in our project manager that there is a task to integrate BP, it might just be that new listing are not shown in feeds yet.

#2 I have not tried any, so could not comment.

#3 GD with multilocations addon lets you add any location and be able to then search between them, they are not sub domains though but would have there own url such as yoursite.com/location/town-name/

#4 Yes 🙂 You can continue to use the versions u have, the subscription is for support and updates, if you no longer need support and updates then you can continue with what you have.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

#1. GD and Buddypress work fine together for the moment. But Paolo and Kiran have started on a new Addon that will add GD activity to the Buddypress activity, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/author-pages-just-show-either-events-or-places/#post-26502
