I’m creating a database of local businesses for a region, not a city. Is there away to make the directory/map recognize a range of zip codes? We’re known as NEPA (Northeastern Pennsylvania) and cover a wide range of counties/cities.

Using the LAT/LONG seems to be restricting where the map will add places. Or I’m just dumb and can’t figure it out from the documentation.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Please review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/definitions/#location
Every listing needs to be located somewhere, unless you turn off the address and map requirements for your listings.
Without lat/lng there is no possibility to show anything on a map.

    Thanks

Thanks, in looking over that, I’m still not sure I can do what I’m attempting. When I create a test profile, I get the attached error. It will only allow me to add to one city, I’m trying to cover a larger area.

I’d like people from the region to be able to join.

    Thanks again,
    Dan

Also, when I make a listing live, it shows the default, not the actual listing

To add listings outside your default location, you need the Location Manager, and in your case, it would need to be activated and set to default country, default region and multicity:

I do not understand your last question…

    Thanks

Ok, so it seems like I just need to buy the subscription to get things going so I have everything.

Before I do, I want to make sure I will be able to do what I’m trying. I want to be able to list places in the area in red. Is this what the location manager allows for? As of now, I have only 1 city listed and that’s not going to work. The second question (which I think the subscription answers) was why, when the address was put in, did the map show the default I had set, not the actual location. I’m guessing without the location manager, I’m tied to one city and can’t service a region.

I hope that all makes sense. Again, it sounds like I’ll need multiple plug-ins to pull this off. Please let me know if what I’m attempting can be done and if I’m on the right track. Thanks,

    Dan

All your questions should be able to be solved with the Location Manager.
You are correct that if you saved the listing without setting a different location (because you could not) then the default location will be used.
