Restrict results based on location?

I’m having a hard time putting this question into terms that I can search with, so I’m probably missing something.

We’re creating a system for visitors to a hotel to search for restaurants around their location. We want to be able to use the same site at hundreds of hotels, but restrict the results to the specific results we want in that area.

Can this be done through focusing the Location picker, or through Neighborhoods? My experience heretofore has been of a general search, not a drilled-down, location-specific search results target.
