    I’ve searched everywhere I can think of but I’m not having any luck…

    Once a user goes to the Search or Listings page, I’d like them to be able to filter their search down further.

    For example, if a user searches restaurants they could use filters in the sidebar to get their desired result even quicker than just scrolling through – I don’t want this to be something they do at the search bar as the filters would be different for each CPT.

    Like you see on many clothing websites or other directories now days, if I typed in mens t-shirts, once I’ve searched I can then filter further by size, colour, style, etc.

    I don’t know if I’m missing something really easy here?

    You can use sorting on the Listings pages, not the Search pages.

    Thanks Guust, those two approaches don’t really achieve what I’m trying to get to. Potentially my directory could have thousands of results in one search and I want the user (after searching) the be able to narrow down and pin point their most relevant results as quickly as possible. Otherwise, if the process takes them too long to find what they want, they will just leave the site and go elsewhere.

    At least it’s not something really obvious that I’d missed…

    I have posted it as a requested feature but it doesn’t look like that has been used for some time… have the GD developers stopped adding new features now?

    Lots of the feature requests are being worked on to be included in a major refresh of GD. Sorting options are planned to be added to the search pages.

    Thanks for taking the time to reply Guust – I’m going to follow this second version and fingers crossed search/listings filtering will be included at some point!
