I notice that yelp has a share button that goes to a form that allows users to page page through Facebook or Twitter. Is there something available that works well with geodirectory ?

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for your post. Are you saying that you want to share the listing on FB and Twitter? Or you want to import listings from FB and Twitter? Both can be done using the “Social Importer” addon https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/addons/social-importer/

I don’t need to import. I am looking for a button that allows users to share a geodirectory listing on their facebook or twitter page. (I can do that with the facebook importer ?)
    Thanks

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for your reply. If you’re using the Supreme Directory theme, you should see the share buttons on the top section of the listing https://wpgeo.directory/supreme-directory/places/united-states/california/san-francisco/burger-factory/ . Are you using some 3rd party themes?

You can create your own with a badge or use a 3rd party plugin.

    ex.

    [gd_post_badge key="post_title" condition="is_not_empty" icon_class="fab fa-facebook" link="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php?u=%%post_url%%" bg_color="#0073aa" txt_color="#ffffff"]

To do this yourself you can add this to a GD tab shortcode, or use a GD Post Badge widget in the sidebar of the details page, or just add it to the GD Details page template. It will also work in the GD Archive Item template.

    Hi Alex

I used the badge widget and it works great.

I do notice tough that on a iphone the link takes me to another browser page. Is there a way to take the user to the facebook app if they are browsing on mobile.

    thanks very much
    Ron

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for your reply. Are you saying that it opens the browser when you click on the badge? Could you share the URL of the page in question?

If there is a link that does that, then you can change the link used in the badge.
