    Title says it all.
My site has gone blank as i was following instructions to a ‘T’ for the v1 to v2 conversion from this page :
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/installation/#bugs

Did everything up to step 9.
When trying to login for step 10, site is blank. No access.

    Tried twice. Same white screen.

If I delete v2 core + plugins, and re-add v1 plugins from “backup” folder back to plugins folder, site goes back to normal.
    Need help.

Try deactivating all the GD addons first.

Make sure you are using the latest versions.

No. Did not work. Still blank screen.

Only plugin that has not updated ins “Invoices”. I can’t even understand from the knowledge base what happened to this plugin or even if its still in use.

I’ve alerted the developers and they’ll check what’s wrong asap.

    Thanks for your patience,

So, am I right in thinking that there is no support on weekends?

I did. Its why I’m asking, since i posted my issue on Friday. The least maybe would have been to warn me to not expect anything.

    Hi again,

don’t expect us to warn you if we are unable to complete the support request by the end of a developer’s working hours.

This is not how support forum works.

Our support hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 18:00 (UK Time). We guarantee an answer within 24 hours to all Support Topic Monday to Friday and within 48 hours during weekends. This doesn’t mean all solutions will be provided within 24 or 48 hrs. For more advanced or technical queries it may as well take longer.

Anyway, someone is looking into your issue now.

    Thank you,

    Hello,

I am in the middle of releasing some plugin updates, i’m going to run through the conversion after those are released (in next 15 minz)

If you can avoid visiting the plugins page until i am done that would be great.

    Thanks,

    Stiofan

Wow. I’m so angry right now that I’m shaking.

On Friday afternoon, I updated my subscription and proceeded to follow the v1 to v2 instructions to do it myself. I followed instructions exactly. I tried it 3 times, failing each time.

I headed to the forum for help/indications on what was wrong. Ended up with an instruction from a moderator that contradicted instruction no. 8, but hey, tried it anyway. Failed again.

I re-posted on the forum. New moderator shows up, asks for my login details, site, server, ftp. I handed over everything. This was Saturday by now.

I notice he’s made a copy of my database in phpmyadmin. Logically, I think, he must be working on my site. So I can’t touch my site so as not to impede the update.

Yet, no more feedback on Saturday.

I sat around watching the day go by, which for me, is very difficult to do since I am a small business and my time is money!!!

Sunday, I get online to see if moderator did anything. The database copy is there. But I don’t see any other changes. But, what am I supposed to do? I can’t touch the site. He must be working on it. Right?

    Sunday rolls along. Nothing.

So, I get back on forum and ask – Do you take weekends off then? Perfectly logical question to ask since there’s that copy made of my database. Who would leave a work half done??? Another guy indicates (i guess?) that weekends are off.

Turns out moderator really did leave the work half done and took off for the weekend!! I couldn’t believe it. How do you leave someone in limbo like that?? if you knew you weren’t going to finish the work that day, why would you start it? Or would it take much effort to warn me??

Would be perfectly fine if I hadn’t been led to think that someone was working on my site…but that was not the case.

So, its Monday now. Monday morning rolled to Monday lunch time. And its now rolled to Monday afternoon. Still nothing.

At this stage, I’m thinking refund. Regrettably. I can’t stick around twiddling my thumbs any longer. Its been 3 days now.

You see, I asked for help. I am offered help. Help is left half-baked. For you it may be nothing. But for a small business like me, spending 3 days without being able to work is very expensive.
