There’s no GD widget for that. Our Supreme theme has social share buttons by default on the detail page, but for other themes you can use third party social share plugin.

PS: can you give us a link to the documentation page where we mention a social like/share widget?

    Thanks

    Here’s the link: https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/widgets/#social

There’s actually a few widgets that this articles states the core plugin has, but it doesn’t. ???

That’s the documentation for the old version of GD (look at the notice on the top of the page).

    Thanks

So adding like/share buttons is no longer an option. Why on earth would that ever be removed??

Because there are lots of social share plugins available, with more options, giving you more choices.

    Thanks

Yes, but it requires adding yet another plugin though to a site that is already quite plugin heavy (geodirectory requires a large number just for itself). Also hard to know which 3rd party plugin will work well with the geodirectory plugins and GD detail pages.
If there’s no plan on adding this back in to the core plugin, is there a third party plugin that is recommended then??

Any plugin that can use shortcodes or widgets in a sidebar should work ok. There are so many, both free and premium, that a quick search should give you some idea of the options. If you are looking for something simple, then there are plenty of free plugins on wp.org . Premium plugins do app integration and much more.
