when in a category or tag listing sorting a-z and z-a works normally, but in search results it appears that it sorts by most recently edited no matter sac or desc. attached are my settings and credentials in next post.

I’ll alert the others for you, I cannot figure it out 🙁
You might have to be a bit patient because of the Easter break.

    Hi,

yes this seems to be a bug I can easily re-create in any of our test websites.

I’ve added it as a task for developer to fix ASAP. We will report as soon as done.

    Thanks for spotting it!

    Cheers,

Sorting should work fine on category pages, and on search pages there should be no sort options, sorting is done by search criteria.

Something else has popped up that is causing me a headache. If the list is sorted by random, the pagination seems to be random as well.

Places show up multiple times through out the pagination, and it appears that some might be missing because the total amount of listings is correct.

This does not seem to be the case when sorted A-Z

    HI,

this is how random works in wordpress archives. It is randomized after every page load.

    Thanks

Any Way to work in either of these?
    http://wordpress.mcdspot.com/2011/12/24/consistent-random-set-of-posts/
    or
    http://www.hughlashbrooke.com/2013/08/wordpress-random-post-order-with-correct-pagination/

Ideally the query would get cached and reused by all visitors for 10-15 minutes, even if the visitor goes back to page 1.

Currently we are using default wordpress API, that requires to hack how it works and should be considered a customization or a feature request.

At the moment nobody ever requested this here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/requests/

So we can’t really prioritize it.

    Thanks
