Step-by-step start tutorial?

    I’m getting lost in a zillion of links on this homepage, again and again ending up with supposedly outdated version 1 information.

    What I would need is a step-by-step tutorial on how to create a directory with advanced search, which isn not distracting me with countless links to other documents.

    Youtube tutorials seem to be outdated to, and so far I have not found my way through this utterly cluttered presentation of information and extensions.

    Does anyone can give me a hint how I can climb this mountain? Tips? Tutorials?
