I am converting a large directory site from html to geodirectory. We created a subdomain as a staging site and now ready to make the staging site the live site. My hosting company has agreed to help me with this. I believe they are just going to rename the sub domain folder to the public_html.

Is there anything that I should do to with Geodirectory to prepare for this. permalinks etc. Hoping this is seamless.

For seo I created a 301 map. There are 6,200 pages that will be redirected.

thanks for any advise you might be able to give me.

New site looks amazing. Really happy with your platform

    Hi Ron,

Thanks for your post. I’m not so sure how are you going to convert an HTML site into GD since it uses WordPress, but here what you can do instead. Create a new GD site first and export your listings from your HTML version into a CSV format. Then import it into GD using this method https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/settings/import-export/ . Once you’ve done that, style the site to your liking.

You will need to use this plugin, you still have links that are pointing to the subdomain [seems to be mainly on your homepage]:

Always back up before making any changes and make sure you know how to restore to the backup.

    Thanks

Whatever is easiest for you, the result will be the same.
    Thanks
