Okay, what about the URLs appending a “-1” to them. Perhaps the locations were deleted and recreated, but either way, I cannot figure out how to edit the url

    Have a look here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/appending-a-1-to-state-in-url/#post-8959

This problem has been solved in the current version.
Let me know if you need a hand with it.

Considering wp-geo added a “-1” to a few of the cities, how can I fix that?

I can edit them in the database if its as simple as editing that one field in the database, but not sure if this is how its done

You can search for the slug in the database, and replace all slug-1 with slug.
Make sure to replace slug with slug-1 if you have them as tags or just delete these tags first.

You should find slug-1 in the location table and the listings table.

Backup and keep track of what you’re doing if in doubt. At least you can then revert.

Well, the problem I just noticed is that every time a new city is added (when a new location is created and a city did not exist before), it always adds a -1 to the end of the url.

Can you help me figure out why?

That normally only happens if that slug is already taken, by a tag, or a post or a category …
I’ll need your phpMyAdmin details too or control panel.

WP Login provided earlier is not valid anymore?

The reason why every time a new city is added, it adds a -1 to the end of the url, is because you have every possible place in your state already in the Terms table of the database.
Did you import a list of locations somehow?
I think you can just empty that table, but I’d like Paolo’s opinion on that to make sure that is safe.

Thats odd because I dont even have many of the listed cities in my file that I plan to upload.

I did use the “dummy” import data within Geodirectory, but not sure why that would have created 500 cities.

Is it safe to delete from Terms table?

Login credentials are no longer working.

If we are talking about 500 tags, I’d delete them from the backend.

In screen option select show 100 of them and you will only have to delete 5 pages.

It would be definitely safer and not much longer than doing it in the DB.
