upload category icon via ftp

Hi i am designing new category icons for the different categories on the homepage belonging to the place.
Any suggestions on the size? It is possible to upload a map icon, but not possible to upload a category icon. So I have been looking for the right map to put the icons…until no no luck. Can you send me the right path where to place the icons.

The category icons are limited to the Font Awesome icons, new ones cannot be uploaded.
All edits to map icons and category icons are done in the category edit screen.
Map icons and default header images should be uploaded to the media library and then selected when choosing the map icon or category default header.

If there is a problem with the category icons not showing, this is usually a Font Awesome conflict. You can adjust the font awesome settings as shown here:
