Hi Geodirectory,
I’m having a few issues with adding listings.
I attempted to register and then add a listing as a test user.
I completed all the details and selected one category. When I click on Review listing, it just takes me back up the page to category / address details and won’t let me go any further.
Please can you let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Emma
April 11, 2016 at 9:43 pm #161695That suggests you have an error with your address.
Can you post your URL and WP admin details in a private reply, then we can have a check for you.
Also give us the address you are trying to add.April 12, 2016 at 5:31 pm #162117This reply has been marked as private.April 12, 2016 at 5:36 pm #162120This reply has been marked as private.April 12, 2016 at 5:56 pm #162132This reply has been marked as private.April 12, 2016 at 9:51 pm #162235You have every custom field duplicated somehow. Your add listing form asks categories twice and addresses twice. I have no idea how you did that. I guess it might be a plugin conflict so de-activate non-GD plugins until you find it. I also note you are on a managed wordpress server. Please review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/server-requirements/#wp

April 13, 2016 at 5:27 pm #162731Hi Guust,
Am I right in thinking Cloud Ways is best to host my site on?
Emma
April 13, 2016 at 5:44 pm #162741Hi,
Cloudways is an excellent solution that we trust, because we use it too for our demos and it is priced decently for what it offers.
It is possible that there are even better solutions, simply we haven’t tried them all.
In any case we can guarantee that Cloudways will work well.
Thanks
April 13, 2016 at 6:39 pm #162794Hi Paolo,
I will look into it. The only problem is i have recently renewed my managed wordpress with Go Daddy.
I’ve just disabled each plugin one by one and checked the site each time but it hasn’t made any difference to the duplication on the add listing page. Do you have any ideas?
My GD Lists won’t update at all and just says failed? Could that be whats causing it?
Many Thanks,
Emma

I’m not sure how i can help on a non compatible server.
If you just renewed, ask them to move you to one of their VPS, that way you won’t lose money.
Thanks
April 13, 2016 at 8:23 pm #162841Ive not been told I’m not on a compatible server before?
April 13, 2016 at 9:04 pm #162921Perhaps you didn’t read carefully:

Managed WordPress Hosting
All managed WordPress hosting uses caching systems that are not compatible with GD’s geolocation features.
Managed hosting is good only for blogs or static websites.
Thanks
April 15, 2016 at 5:39 pm #164006Given all the other occasions I have posted problems I have had with geodirectory on the forums, not one of the geodirectory team have ever mentioned being on a managed wordpress is an issue.
This is the first time you have mentioned it.
April 15, 2016 at 5:48 pm #164007I have had no end of problems with this plugin. I would like my money back. Regards
April 15, 2016 at 5:50 pm #164009Hi Emma,
I’m sorry about that, but personally I think I’ve never accessed your backend. I’ve looked your previous support request and most of the time we accessed your database and FTP only. There is no way to tell from there.
However we have told this in countless topics in the forum and even noted that in the documentation.
WordPress managed plans are not a good choice for anything more than blogs and static websites. Their caching system is simply too strict.
Thanks
