    GD Team,

To say I am impressed is an understatement. Incredible work. Whoop looks powerful and the website refresh is impressive and looks very professional. Hats off to you all. Fantastic!

Can someone tell me what the diff between GeoTheme and this Whoop theme is? Aren’t they both “yelp” based clones?

    Thank you!

This probably explains it best: https://wpgeodirectory.com/whoop-beta-released/

The page lists all the features only available in the Whoop! theme.

Looks really good and have only had a quick ‘play’ so far with the demo. Could you please change the settings so that users can edit the content they add .. events, forum posts, lists, etc.
    Thanks

    Hi,

if you click on the LAUNCH DEMO link in the top tool bar, a sandbox will be created for you where as an admin you can change (almost) any settings you want.

    Thanks

Thanks Paulo, can you point me where I need to change the user privileges in the Sandbox so that they can edit something they have added through the front end .. can’t seem to find it.

    Hi,

for Events there is no settings because users can already edit their own events. On your profile click the listings tab and than the events submenu.

The main Events tab shows your events activity. Your Listings (for all CPTs) are managed in the Listings tab.

For the foru mthat’s a bbpress setting. Go to Settings >> Forums.

    Thanks

Can you convert or upload all places from GeoTheme?

    @chris22
Geotheme is a theme incorporating a directory.
GeoDirectory is the next generation: it is a much improved directory plugin that can be used with all HTML5 themes. Whoop! is a theme specifically created for the GeoDirectory plugin, like some others which you can find here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/themes/
Read more here about the difference too: https://wpgeodirectory.com/about/

Regarding importing GeoTheme listings, have a look at this topic, it should give you the answer hopefully:

I just set up a site to test ‘Whoop’ and frankly blown away freaking awesome.

I used your test site to replicate many settings — really, really helps!

If at all possible a full wordpress geo directory with admin access, so users could look, to replicate all your settings wouldbe on my wish list, of course locked down somehow so users could not change or edit, even more helpful… however, surely not complaining.

    WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW
Geo directory is now far and away the best directory software on the planet available for smaller companies… nothing comes else even close….

Thanks Guust! Looks like they are still trying to work the conv over from GT to GD. I will stand by and see how it plays out. I know first hand there are bugs with GT that have not been worked out.

I just finished building our new directory a few weeks back. Ive been waiting for the features in Whoop! like 1) users can now add photos to listings 2) a user can now create a list..weve been wanting this 3) Users can now RSVP Events “who’s in?” etc.

Could we get these features without having to switch themes. We just finished a long process of configuring the theme we are currently working with.

Is there a way to get the “gd list” feature as a GD add-on? or via the buddy press integration?
