Hi,
I’m trying to give others access to my website so that they may add new places, edit only their new places, and publish it. I don’t want them to have 100% access like me. I created an Author user account for them but they cannot access the dashboard to begin adding new places. What would be the link (URL) of my website where they can enter username and password so they can reach dashboard?

Thanks.
December 13, 2015 at 9:53 pm #63661Log in at http://plentyfit.com/gd-login/
Then add a listing at http://plentyfit.com/add-listing/
And add the GD login widget to your pages, then they will have a link to all their listings. That is how GD works by default, there is no reason to give them author access.
Let me know if I misunderstood.
December 14, 2015 at 3:57 am #63679Hi Guust,
That’s great. And there is the Social Importer I was looking for in the back end while creating a new place. So the URL for Facebook and Yelp can only be accessed from the front end?
I’m so glad I don’t have to give them author access. That makes everything secure for me.

My footer sort of comes and goes when it pleases. It suddenly reappeared when I added the GD Login Widget to Footer 1. If I remove the widget, the whole footer area disappears. Please take a look when you have a moment. Thanks.

When I try adding a Facebook or Yelp URL, these are the errors that are popping up. Thanks.

December 14, 2015 at 12:43 pm #63714You have to set FB and Yelp up correctly, please step through https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/social-importer-addon/ carefully.
Regarding your footer: unless you add something to the footer, the footer will not display.
December 14, 2015 at 4:11 pm #63736Hi Guust,
I did have widgets in Footer 2 and 3 and it didn’t display. It’s when I added the GD Login to Footer 1 that the entire footer reappeared.
Does Footer 1 have to be active in order to have a footer? Thanks.
~Janine
December 14, 2015 at 10:02 pm #63815That is theme specific. In the Geodirectory framework, adding a widget to Footer 2 only will display it. I guess Genesis behaves differently.

I cannot get the social importer to work. I followed the instructions above but a pop up says “Something went wrong”. I tried resetting the App Secret but still nothing. Please see my last message.

December 15, 2015 at 9:25 pm #63958Hi Janine
It is very important you follow the instructions exactly.
You can always delete the app you created already and start again.
As per the instructions at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/social-importer-addon/#yelp you do need both a Yelp and FB developer account.December 15, 2015 at 9:28 pm #63959This reply has been marked as private. -
