    Hi guys,

When I search for a place – the page <title> in the browser (and hence what Google will display and index) is just “You Searched For”.

I know there is an option for GD – Settings – General – Search – Show advanced – Show search terms (for custom fields) but am I missing a setting for showing the actual location.

For example – look at the HTML page title in the browser for this link:

    https://www.childcarefinder.ie/search/?geodir_search=1&county=Louth&snear_town=Drogheda%2C+Louth&s=+&stype=gd_place&snear=Drogheda%2C+Louth&spost_category%5B%5D=&sgeo_lat=53.7149877&sgeo_lon=-6.3524183

    Definitely effecting my Google ranking

    Thanks very much,

    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,

Thanks for your post. Are you using any SEO plugins? If you are, check out the settings over there. If not, please share your Website WP admin access here in private reply and we’ll check your GD settings.

    Hi Adrian,

Thanks for your reply. Could you go through the settings here https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/integrations/yoast/ and see if it helps? If you’re still having issues, share your Website WP admin access here and we’ll check what’s going on.

Thanks Kor – have been a couple of hours tricking with the settings… and I did read that article you linked to

In short – I was sure that I found the perfect solution :o)
….I came to the conclusion that in YOAST I could just use the GD definited settings that I found in “GD – Settings – Titles and Meta – Search Pages.” as follows:

    Search results for: %%search_term%% %%search_near%%

But it doesn’t work and the page title on the search page just becomes

    Search results for:

    will post logon details now…..

    thanks,

    Adrian

    Hi adriangraham,

Tick “Disable Yoast” at GeoDirectory > Settings > Titles & Meta to use GeoDirectory title & meta settings.

Let us know how it goes. If you find this is still not working then provides us FTP credentials to look into more.

    Regards,
    Kiran

Kiran, that works as planned… the system will revert to the Deodirectory settings and not use YOAST. But, I would love to be able to use those %%search_term%% and %%search_near%% tokens in YOAST. And I assume you can right? So this is an issue with my installation is it?

    Thanks very much

Or, if I keep that setting to diable YOAST title, what page reflects a Single GD Place page in the GD Settings – Titles and Meta section?

    Thanks for the help

    Hi Adrian,

I would love to be able to use those %%search_term%% and %%search_near%% tokens in YOAST. And I assume you can right?

Some times Yoast do not overwrites %search_near% variables, so we provided option to use titles & meta from GeoDirectory instead from Yoast.

if I keep that setting to diable YOAST title, what page reflects a Single GD Place page in the GD Settings – Titles and Meta section?

It will use titles & meta settings from section “GeoDirectory > Settings > Titles & Meta > Single post pages”

It will use titles & meta settings from section “GeoDirectory > Settings > Titles & Meta > Single post pages”

Thanks Kiran – Is this also what it uses for single blog posts in a sites new blog? As if it is, the content would should be very different to a GD Place. Hope that makes sense.

    And thanks – as always

I will take that up as a suggestion for the developers to consider for future versions.
