    Hello
I am building a national directory of Realtors. Since a Realtor can only cover a certain geographic area, I want to sell listings per zip code. My question is this: Within GD would each zip code be it’s own CPT? What would be the best way for users to get to a particular zip code and see the listings? Thank you

Perhaps a tag, have you tried that?

If you want to charge per number of ZIP code selected, categories would be the only way to go. So each ZIP code is a category.

And for each price you allow a growing number of categories.

That said, GeoDirectory is not really made for similar sites.

It is designed to show the location (1 address) where the business/place is located, not the areas that it serves.

    Thanks

Thank you. That makes total sense about the areas served. Any advice on how to build out the directory so that they could buy a separate city without the physical address? If a Realtor has an office in Dallas but can cover Houston, any advice on how to best set that up? Any way to do a “virtual” office? I guess I could use a field that says other areas served in the add listing page. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The only workaround would be the franchising manager add-on, asking them for each franchise listing to only add the city name as the address.

OK, so to confirm, there is no way to remove the “address” field when they add their listing. Every GD listing must have a physical address, correct?

Thank you for all of your help with this.

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for your reply. You can disable physical location/address using this option https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/custom/#address . But doing that will affect the entire CPT.

Thank you Paolo and Kor. I appreciate the input. I will try that and see what it looks like without the physical address. My challenge now is how to break down each user category. I can’t decide if it is by zip code category or city category. The thought is to make every membership the same $$$ and limit the number of subscribers based on the size of each zip or city. Thanks again.
