Hi,
The ‘x’ next to the advanced search parameters that show up on the search results page when using advanced search don’t do anything (i.e. you can’t turn them off to modify the search), and the ‘Email a Friend’ icon/link is missing (the Contact Venue link does appear, so the issue is not connected to listings having an associated email address). I have updated the plugins in question.
The url is: Link to search page
Can you please advise?
Thanks
October 28, 2018 at 5:00 pm #451589If you click the X it shoudl refresh the page as a new search without the term. You might have some custom CSS interfering with the anchor/link.
I cannot see the search results page, I get a 500 error. Is there some form of traffic blocker running? Can you disable it so we can check the page?
Send to a friend functionality was recently removed from GeoDirectory. There are many 3rd party plugins that can be used to achieve similar ‘social share’ functionality and while we don’t have a particular recommendation, here are many to choose from.
October 29, 2018 at 9:20 am #451640Hi there,
Thanks for the response. I’m able to see the search results page (i.e. no 500 error), and as far as I know, there’s no traffic blocker in operation (unless it’s a hosting issue). Can you retry please and let me know if you are still unable to see the search results page? If you are getting a 500 error, do you get the same error using the basis search?
I’ve disabled all styles, and the ‘x’ still don’t refresh the page, so it would be great if you could take a look (providing you can see the search results page!). Thanks!
October 29, 2018 at 1:49 pm #451693Please check to make sure you are running up to date addons:

If an update does not fix the issue, please share WP Admin and FTP in a private reply so we can look into the issue.
I get a 500 on near results. On a search for results page I do not see any of the terms shown with an ‘x’. Please include a screenshot of the item so we can check on it.

I am still getting a 500 error when I do a near search.
Can you please paste here the search results URL so I can see if it matches what I am getting here: https://wimbledoncommunity.org/?geodir_search=1&stype=gd_place&s=birthday+parties&snear=wimbledon&sgeodir_location%5B%5D=&sgeo_lat=36.0937865&sgeo_lon=-95.89257470000001
Please contact your host about the 500 error. Ask them to check the log for the reason for the error. It could still be some sort of security blocking, but it is happening even when logged in with the account you sent.
Before we take another look, please update your plugins. The ones that aren’t display the ‘License’ link are very out of date. Updating those may fix the problem.
You can try this method for updating. Once they are up to date the new versions will take advantage of automatic updates.

If the problem persists, write back to let us know and we can take another look.

October 31, 2018 at 1:01 pm #451981There are several widget areas that seem to be missing from your site that should be included with GD, like the GD Search Top section. Also missing are the Listing page widget areas
DO you remember seeing these before?
I think you might consider re-installing GD.
We can take another look, do you have a staging site where we can do some debugging?

You could try enabling the Search Top area and placing a search widget there so that the search bar shows up on the search page. Right now there isn’t a way to search on the search page, so the other piece of the mechanism for updating the query is not present.
October 31, 2018 at 4:48 pm #452026Thanks Alex, I’ll give that a go! Appreciate your help.

I’ve added the search widget and it’s fixed the issue. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
