    Hi

Here is my test page: http://therubbishclearancedirectory.sandboxjokadesign.co.uk/?listing_type=gd_place

I am setting up a very simple directory/database that will have just one category (for now) and which will be searchable by only the post code. Therefore I would like to remove or hide the first of the two search fields altogether, so that the user just simply types in a postcode and hits the search icon. How can this be done?

Also, how should I add a simple line above the search field that says, “tell us where you want your rubbish collected from” – or similar?

    Many thanks.

You can find some examples here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/common-styling-examples/#search

The near field, the second search field on your page, is the one that would be used to search zip codes in a proximity search so you probably don’t want to hide that one.

Caution: GDV2 is out, so you should be using GDV2 to build new sites.

Check the home page section on this doc for instructions on how to add some text:

Yes, you should update Supreme and Directory starter as stated here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/installation/

Shortcodes from GDV1 do not work with GDV2. They must be changed out for their GDV2 counterpart.

If you need us to take a look at any settings, please share WP Admin in a private reply.

The GDV2 option for turning off physical location is shown here:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/places/general/

    Did you update the themes?
Supreme and Directory starter both need to be updated to V2 also.
