This can be marked as resolved (follow Giri’s link above). Thanks!
It worked! I had to edit down the logic in the widget to:
$country_slug = ‘australia’
Thanks so much!
A couple of follow up questions:
1. with this approach, how would I present the logic for everywhere/no location selected? Presumably the geodir_get_current_location_terms() provides some data that I can use in such instances? (I am not a coder, but getting use to hacking things around!)
2. Now I also have to have a think about how far I want to take this. I have a slider that I want to vary according to country location page. As things stand I will have to place a whole lot of duplicate widgets with varying logic (one for each country) in the same widget area. Ideally, I would like to have just one ‘template widget’ (if that makes sense) that called up the correct slider based on the location that is set – is that sort of thing possible?
Thank you very much – will have a look at using that approach.

July 28, 2017 at 4:57 pm in reply to: GD Home Map widget not visible when in Home Content area #388862…actually, the widget’s weren’t over-ridden, but shunted to bottom of page content, so I hid them on that page. I should have remembered that of course, but it is a rather long page of content!
This can be marked as resolved now.

I think because I had written content in the page I set as GD Home, that over-rode the widget area for GD Home content. Put the gd_homepage_map shortcode at top of content and hey-presto! Just have some minor formatting issues to sort, but basically good.

Hi Stiofan,
I am not sure this approach will work – I am using the location description to add text (description) to the Content widget area, but want to have the slider widget appear in the right sidebar. I believe I can only have one location description per location, meaning that I must choose between having text in the content or widget in the sidebar – but I want both! Perhaps I am wrong?
I will have a look at widget logic.
Thanks,

that’s just the job!
Many thanks,
Adrian(and thanks for pointing out Code Snippets plugin – I didn’t have it installed, but do now)
I couldn’t get it to show as needing updating, so had to de-activate, delete, download and upload the new version.
Translations have been updated now, so all good.
Thanks,
AdrianHi Stiofan,
given that I have no update notification as per other plugins, how do I update it – or is it a case of deactivating, deleting then re-uploading it?

(I rarely, if ever, upload plugins manually, so am not practiced in the steps to do so – hence my looking for an auto-install rather than have to spend time working out how to do it and risking messing it up) – hoping it is simply a case of being told the correct name
