No updates about a backport of FA5 to V1, however, if you want to customize your site you can go ahead and upgrade FA with the following snippet:

As an example, Old class “fa fa-address-book” and new class “fas fa-book-open” (latest 5.2.0 version)

It may be that you deleted a category, but the category is still applied to one of the places?
It sounds like you have narrowed it down, so try looking for a place that matches the criteria.
You can check all your places to make sure they all have categories and locations.

There may be a location without a country, or without a city for example.
1. Show email – GeoDirectory will not by default allow the email address to be shown. This is in respect of best practices to avoid divulging emails for consumption by automated scrapers. Instead, the email address is hidden, and the “Send Enquiry” feature allows visitors to ‘write an email to the email address associated with the listing. If you really, really want to share the email in plaintext you can create a custom field. You can use the new ‘public email’ field instructions in the custom field settings to explain the difference between them and invite the listing owner to share their email publicly.
2. Hide tags on detail page – try this custom CSS:

I checked a listing, and comments are not enabled.
To enable reviews, first enable comments on old posts individually, and then adjust the WP Settings at
WordPress – Settings – Discussion
Those options control who can leave a comment/review
Once those are enabled, review your GD settings again to adjust the settings as you like:
