Hello,
I see what you are talking about there, the hover image alt information.
there is no easy way to remove or hide that that without a customization at this time for GeoDirectory V1, but this is something we have worked hard on improving for V2. With V2 it is possible to set the image attributes.
Look under the Multilocations -> Manage locations tab.
See how the default location is just ” , ” ?
Choose a different location.
This happens because when the site is setup, the default location should be set to a real location before the Multilocations addon is enabled.
Let us know how it goes
Yes, each CPT is searched separately, and that goes for events, too.
Categories can be simple, too.
I work mostly with tourism categories and always recommend the simple system used for the Wikimedia Foundation travel sites: Eat, See, Do (simple, clear)
DO write back if you have more questions or concerns 🙂
Hello,
please make a new topic and we will help you with that.
Hello,
V1 import doesn’t work with image URLs for importing images, but V2 will try try t import images even with an external URL.
there are lots of scripts out there for that: https://www.google.com/search?&q=csv+image+url+download+image+script
You might be looking to have the image renamed based on the name of the listing?
I will leave your thread open here in case other members have experience with a particular solution.

Try resaving your GD and WordPress permalinks.
It is possble in this case that some listings have been assigned a category that no longer exists. Check your listings to make sure that is not the case and re-save the ones where that is the case.
If that doesn’t work we would be happy to take a look at your settings to see if we can find the problem.

you could try it that way, and you could also start out with one post type and use categories to differentiate them. I recommend that folks new to managing sites keep it simple. I don’t mean you personally, I am speaking very genrally here. Limiting initial complexity can keep it fun through the learning phase.
That said, if you plan on charging for something right away, then it is important to make as good a decision as possible about whether you want to use multiple custom post types. Maybe, if you are going to charge for one of them, then use one CPT for all the free ones, and one CPT for the listings that will be charged.
If you don’t plan on charging for six months or so, then why not just keep it simple to begin with, then export some of the listings later and then import them again into the new CPT.
Tags are used by some site managers for specific display strategies but are not often used to differentiate between listing types because they are not predfined.
Others on the team have other opinions, but it helps us if you have a specific question or concern. My concern is usually complexity, but, what is yours?
Hello,
GeoDirectory is for displaying listings, with excellent import and export features for dealings with large numbers of listings plus everything needed for a hands off directory enabling customers to claim and pay for their listings.
However, GeoDirectory is a plugin for displaying listings, not scraping them. There are lots of other tools out there for that.
Active members can submit feature requests and if they are popular they are considered for the plugin: https://wpgeodirectory.com/requests/

OK Kai, thanks for letting us know 🙂
OK, then it must be a conflict with another plugin or perhaps your custom code.
Try disabling your customizations and non-GD plugins to see which one is intercepting and rewriting the URLs on the homepage.
Here is a guide for how to do that.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/troubleshooting-guide/#conflict
For us to take a deeper look we will need FTP and permission to disable all the non-GD plugins and customizations in order to identify the issue.
If you have only made the single purchase you should renew close to the license expiration date (or at your leisure).
Hey! Glad you got it working. We are all happy about that! 🙂
Hey! Glad you got it working!
We are all in luck because GDV2 has a totally new UI for re-rdering tabs and fields.
Read more about it here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/geodirectory-v2-first-beta-release/
Definitely! 🙂
(We are super excited, too!)
