In the future PLEASE post all GDV2 related questions to the appropriate subforums so we know what advice to give you.
1)On the https://new.resourceshark.com/index.php/places/ – Places page, i deleted the maps api bc i do not need that feature. How do can i add widgets to that section? I have asked before but have not been shown a clear answer besides “customization” I’m a wordpress developer and still cant figure out what this means. I just want it to operate like your other themes with the widgets on the right.
This right sidebar widget area is not supported in GDV2 in Supreme theme V2.
2) On all pages i would like to have a header background image, but when i add one, or a color it messes up the featured area on the home page and looks like two images on top of one another.
Can you share an example page?
Not sure which header you mean, exactly3) i would like to disable featured image area on all pages except the home page. I have asked before but the only choices i was presented with was either disabling it site wide, or having to disable it by page id. I’m going to have 2000+ places and disabling by page id would be crazy, is there a way to enable by page id instead?
You are using GDV2. Open the WP Page called GD Detail template and use the featured area options described in the docs to hide the featured area (set to None).

Thanks for reporting the issue. Make sure you are updated to the latest version on your site.
We dealt with this once before, but if you are running the latest version, then we will need to check into the issue on your site.If you are already updated, please make a private reply with WP Admin and FTP so we can do some debugging.
The text is added by the plugin “WP GDPR Compliance”
Even when it is disabled, though, the button itself is not active and the review can’t be submitted.
When I switch themes I was able to submit a review, with WP GDPR Compliance enabled, so it seems to be a conflict with the theme.
The developers will take a look and provide you with an update as soon as possible.
Hello,
in the future please post your questions about GDV2 in the appropriate V2 subforum.
GDV2 supports builders and works with any third party theme.
It would help if you would explain what it is that you are trying to do.
For example, what particular templates do you mean?
If you are editing PHP, you can of course include GDV2 shortcodes into your PHP. Is that what you mean?GDV2 pages are created with templates. Did you mean those templates? You can read more about them here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/page-design/If those subjects aren’t what you are getting at, please describe what you are trying to do so we can try to help.
There are several ways to improve search if your directory is in one country.
First increase the default search radius and the near me radius too.
GD – General – Search – Radius
Second, add additional text to limit search to the your country, if your directory is in one country.
GD – General – Search – Add location specific text to (Near) search for Google
That is the only setting that will help your searchers limit their search to the UK. Otherwise you need to tell them to add the country when they search.
What plugin adds this text?
“By using this form you accept the storage and management of your data from this website.”Try disabling non-GD addons one by one and let us know what you find if it is disabled.
You can enable the widget area in
GD – Settings – Design – Listing – Enable right sidebar
However we cannot provide support for that as a widget area because it is designed to be used with a map.
Well, let’s get started then.
1. Docs are here for GDV2 https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/
2. All design elements are listed here:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/design-elements/3. To personalize your site, please read:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/personalize/If you have a specific question write back in a new topic and we will be happy to help
OK, great, glad to hear it is working.
If you run into issues with Subscribers not being able to edit, you may need to sort that with the membership plugin author because GD doesn’t have any features that would stop a user from a editing a listing (if they are the owner, for example).Yes you should worry about that.
Try setting another theme like twentyseventeen to active, then delete Directory starter and supreme.
Then upload the new versions.Let us know how it goes
Hello,
please include a screenshot or a description of the issue so we can better understand what the problem is.
February 21, 2019 at 7:15 pm in reply to: gd_post_images – image_size tag dose not work properly #470431Hello,
yes, the gd_post_image is set to fill the parent container. One approach is to customize your template and add a container div around the element and add custom css to define that element with a specific size.
I suspect this issue is related to a conflict with whatever plugin is adding the text:
“By using this form you accept the storage and management of your data from this website. ”Try disabling the plugin that creates that and let us know if the review submits.
That would require a customization.
I am sorry, we seem to have wandered out of normal territory here.
I am trying to be helpful but we don’t actually provide general WP support. We offer two sets of instructions on our GDV2 installation page.
Fresh Install, or Conversion from V1.If you need help reinstalling WP, you will need to contact your host or hire an expert.
