1. That “Search” in the right hand side on the homepage is part of your theme or WP, it is not part of GD.
2. There are two instances of that in the Advanced Search plugin language file.
Have you changed both of them?Without a URL there is no assistance we can provide. If you can post that in a private reply together with your WP admin details, we will be able to see what theme you use etc.
1. What is the problem?
2. You can add the Popular Cateegories widget. That will only show categories for the selected location. I added it below the CPT Categories widget so you can see the difference.
It is not the same problem as the difference between Listings and Detail pages, that is something else.
I cannot see anything spinning on that page.
Your WP admin area will show there is an update available.Have a look here, and let us know if you need more help: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/missing-update-notifications/
Is that not how your site works? Can you share URL and WP admin details in a private reply if we need to have a look.
They are not categories, but CPTs on the WhatsHappening site. He just has a lot of them.
If you want to filter by categories, activate the advanced search addon, go to Places > custom fields and follow the instructions on the page to add the categories.
Example at http://wpgeo.directory/attractions/Do you have at least one place and one event in your system? The dropdown is only activated once you have live listings in each CPT.
URL and admin details would be handy in a private reply if we need to check your settings. Thanks.
Something like
.geodir-loc-bar-in { background: #808080; border: none; }To adjust, look at https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/
Please review https://wpgeodirectory.com/customise-send-enquiry-form/
No, not really. You can do it yourself, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/customizing-your-style/
And if you have any trouble, we can assist if you explain your problem in detail and give us a URL where the trouble is.

You could disable images with a bit of CSS work.
And categories are required for your site to work. You might have been able to upload, but the listings cannot show on the maps if they are not categorized. You have a double dot, try
.geodir-category-list-in { background: #808080 none repeat scroll 0 0; border: 0; }Most likely, your WP permalinks are not set correctly or the listings are not in a category.
See https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/basic-installation/#postnamesIf we need to check your settings, we will need your URL and WP admin details in a private message.
I wrapped the description in a DIV in functions.php and added a some CSS to style.css.
