You can achieve that with a membership plugin like s2member.

If the listing is gone to draft, then you know the payment has not worked.
If a listing is paid, it will be published.
SO there is no need to check anything.

You can also check the transactions in the listing, see image.

You might be able to put a conditional around a part in the template.
The simplest would be to restrict access to pages like
/add-listing/?listing_type=gd_place&package_id=3

You can use the GD Events Calendar widget, but it will not show the events in the widget itself, you have to click on the date.
The Modern Tribe plugin does not allow your users to add free event listings either I think.
You can add a feature request if you like, but as far as I know, I don’t think it is being planned for the moment.

Can you turn off all security plugins like wordfence etc on that site.
It stops us from logging in.
