1. When I enter the page, it asks me to geo-locate
2. I say YES
3. Get directed to Richmond, and switcher says so, and map only shows Richmond listings.
4. So that locks the site into Richmond, that is how it works
5. Now I go to “home” by clicking the logo and I am still in Richmond: the map shows richmond, and the switcher says Richmond. That is correct, that is what I did choose at point #2If this works different for you, it must be a local setting. Clear all caches including browser and GD Booster etc. I cannot replicate what you describe, sorry.
You need to add these brands as custom fields (not tags), same for service type.
Activate the Advanced Search filter and follow the instructions on the pages at GD > Place Settings > Advanced Search. You are welcome 🙂
Can you give more information? What is it that you want the plugin to do?
You are still using a caching system, it seems.
You are running 2 directory plugins, that is bound to give you trouble. Deactivate the one you will not use.You cannot really have the directory contained to one page; there are separate pages for all locations, categories and listings. Examples:
https://iabdm.org/location/united-states
https://iabdm.org/places/hygienist-1/
https://iabdm.org/places/canada-1/ontario-1/barrie/hygienist-1/gouweloos-rdh-ihp-tammy/Searching for a postcode will give you the listings around the centre of the location:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/core-design/#howI guess that the listing in 90024 is more than 6 miles from the center of Los Angeles, and that is why it does not show in the search.
All users can manage their own listing, if you add the GD dashboard widget, your users will get a link to their listings. ALso, if you use the sidebar on the detail page, the user will get a link to edit the listing if logged in.
For example, this is yours:
https://iabdm.org/author/IABDM/?geodir_dashbord=true&stype=gd_placeNot sure how you created the language file but it was a bit corrupt.
I created a correct one and added a few translations only and they work now.
Both old and new files are at /wp-content/languages/geodireventsI can’t see anything wrong … and am not sure if i understand correctly …
Can you clear your location and see if that helps:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-can-i-clear-geo-location-settings/You can add all the links using the WP menu, except for the location switcher.
Creating another nav bar will not be that easy, unless your theme includes that option.I think there is little you can do if people don’t take the time to add proper locations, except merging them or correcting them in the back end.
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/how-do-i-merge-locations/Setting the map address to autocomplete also will help getting it right.
GD > multilocations > settings > Disable Google address autocomplete? > leave un-tickedGD users are just WP users and are added at the default role you set at WP > Settings > General > New User Default Role.
I am guessing you have that set to “Author”, so new users are automatically added as authors. You would have to add clear:both to one of the elements I guess, that will start a new line.
Another way sometimes is to add display:block, that creates its own block on a new line.If you use the Advance Search addon, you can add the categories to the search bar.
You can then hide the map legend, but your visitors will not be able to filter the map for one category only for example. You can remove the map using CSS, but you cannot change the city, state and country to a text box, the entries are connected to the database.
You’re welcome 🙂
I cannot see any bad links at all, make sure you cleared all caches if you see any problems.
