Without seeing the site it is difficult to comment on that one.You should have an update available to the Search addon, that fixes your issues.

In my personal opinion, you should use categories where possible and only have extra custom post types if you have a reason for it (like different pricing, different custom fields).

I can confirm that the autocomplete for listing titles in the advanced search does not work anymore in my test sites (if that is what you mean).
I cannot access your site for the moment, it redirects to https and gives a 403.
Not from the frontend, or everybody can do that. It needs to go through the email system to make sure only the correct user can change the password.
Have you updated to the latest version? That bug is fixed.
It looks like you are not allowing registrations, so people cannot register, and definitely will not be able to choose a password.
