Can you post your wordpress admin details in a private message?
We want to have a look at how you created your home page.That is how wordpress works.
WordPress does not work properly with duplicated slugs.
If you want to propose any changes to that, you will have to submit them to WordPress, this is nothing a GD can help you with.
All I can suggest is to use local-services, localservices, local-service, localservice etc.You can have categories with the same name, but not the same slug.

The simplest seems to be to just hide the tag option for users, so you can add any tags yourself in the backend. As you add tags, they will be available from a pick list next time, in the edit section of your listings.
Yes, GD will work with SSL and as far as I know, you will have to https your whole WP installation, it cannot be done page by page.
