On the theme that I’m using, how do I make the front page extend to the bottom of the screen? Now it’s about 2/3 of the way down and it looks funny. Also, I can get the header background to stay white.

Can you give the URL of that page, the one I am looking at goes down a fair way.

    CSS for header:

    body.sd-float-menu #site-header {background: white;}

    Thanks

Try claiming a listing when logged out. It will automatically ask you to login.
If you want to add any notes, then that may be best on your login page, but it depends a bit how you have set things up.
You could change the button text in the widget.

    Thanks

In the GD Archive Item template, you can add this shortcode (or block), adjust as required:

    [gd_post_badge key='post_date' condition='is_less_than' search='+30' icon_class='fas fa-certificate' badge='New' bg_color='#ff0000' txt_color='#ffffff' alignment='left']

    Thanks

Add the GD Search element (shortcode or block or widget) and the GD Categories element to your homepage.
Adjust as required using the settings.

    Thanks

I can see you successfully installed it on your main site. Do you still have a question?

    Thanks

Can I set uploads to update existing listings based on first and last name instead of ID number?

When you upload a CSV file to update it will overwrite everything of the existing listing. Databases only have one identification key for a record which is the post ID, so that is the only thing it can compare with your new upload.

I added the images now to https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/search-function-6/page/2/#post-502829
Have a look at the images, they show you how you can change the settings.

    (1) WP memory limit: 256 MB — is this adequate to run GD smoothly and snappily?

    Yes, that should be enough.

    (2) Add listing page: ❌ Page does not contain the shortcode.

That looks like a false report. Your Add Listing page has the correct shortcode and works fine. It is probably related to the fact that I restored it a few days ago because it contained the wrong shortcode at that time.

Shared hosting is not suitable for sites that will have lots of listings and locations, please review https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/server-requirements/

So I’m configuring search page and in the details search I’m trying to configure so that the search bars go as follows: Category, First Name, Last Name, Business Name, City, County, Zip, Skills & Services
However, the page defaults back to County, City, Zip Code, Last Name, etc. each time.
    How do I fix this?

Drag and drop the fields you added at Listings > Settings > Search tab

    Thanks

If you want to import new listings you should not use post IDs.
Post IDs are only used for updating existing listings.
Let us know how you went.
    Thanks.

I’ve been on the phone with tech support for my host re the errors in deleting files. They’re looking into the errors more deeply, but so far have mentioned they could have to do with the php and the Ioncube php loader. Have you had other similar issues relating to deleting listings from themes and also site speed?

Please review this if you want to know why you get 414 errors: https://codesteps.com/2014/06/30/wordpress-3-x-how-to-resolve-414-request-uri-too-large-error-while-deleting-the-users-2/

I’ve activated Pricing, but don’t see pricing manager. I’ve enabled listing expiry — there’s no other options such as set duration.

Now that you have activated the Pricing Manager addon you can set the duration of listings in the price packages. See image 1.

neither of those fields accomplish min price to max price.

Please see image 2 and 3. Set up in your Listings CPT, adjust as required.

    Thanks

Is there a way to do a search based on price range : minimum to maximum.

There are 2 fields like that you can add: Price and Price Range.
Check out the list of custom fields on the left hand side of Places > Settings > Custom Fields. Once you added the fields check out the settings.

How do I set auto listing expiration date timeframe?

Activate the Pricing Manager and set the duration of listings in the price packages.

Can I set a category and its listings so it does not appear on my website?

That will require your own customization.

    Thanks

That is in the List Manager language file.
Language strings are always in the language file of the same plugin that outputs the strings in the first place.

    Thanks

Sorry, but I am not sure what you mean.
You can find the language files here: https://wpgeodirectory.com/translate/projects/geodirectory/
