It’s a big deal for anyone creating a listing website since it adds an extra step to a user to have to search as opposed to just start typing any keyword.
I added some code I found from another thread in the past as follows, which worked when I added it as a snippet.
Let me know if this is ok to do. Stiofan provided some code to achive this below.

Hi Paolo,
Understood.
I was confused with buddyintegration and buddypress. I thought they go hand in hand but they are separate plugins.
As always, great support from your team thus far. I have been impressed with the support and appreciate the attention to detail from all of you including Alex, Guust, Kor, you, and others I may be missing here.
Thanks again for the clarification.

Everything you mentioned I have done already so that should be fine. I have checked the file name, location, etc.
The complete strings do appear in the buddypress .po file and it’s translated on my end. The interesting thing is I have translated other strings and they do show up on the front end, but for some reason, the email notifications are not translating.
Do you have any suggestions as to where to look for the root cause based on other geodirectory translation files?
In this case, the translation is in the file and it’s in the right location.
Hi Alex, I had a similar question just 3 days ago and Guust from your team was able to help.
I’m confused as to why this is an issue now. Buddypress is integrated to geodirectory and it’s possible it’s an integration issue so I would argue it should be supported by geodirectory if you’ve tested it with geodirectory.
I can send you Guust’s responses and his support if you would like. Otherwise, can you please consult with your team about supporting me on this?

What’s the recommended size for the main large image at the top so it looks clear? It’s a large banner area and it looks ugly with just any image.
nevermind. I see it now. It seems when I added the category, now it works. Thank you.
