This has been fixed. It will be in next release of Franchise Manager.
For now to fix this re-save Franchise field from CPT > Settings > Custom Fields > Franchise > Save.

This may be because of plugin manager cache. Just go to Dashboard > Updates ( /wp-admin/update-core.php ).
Once you done with updates just let us know, so we can proceed to check about main issue.

Hi @gnhinc,
Instead of many categories it is good if categories split into custom post type.
Category field has limit of 254 characters in database. To increase field limit add PHP snippet provided at here https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/soft-maximum-for-categories-per-company/#post-493949
After adding PHP snippet just run a tool GeoDirectory > Status > Tools > Clear versions. After doing this it will allow to store categories as many you want.
