So sorry about that. I totally overlooked that yesterday when I was overwhelmed with trying to figure out how it works.

Hi, thanks for the reply.I’m using GD V2 . When you mention “custom field”, do you mean the “standard field” under the CPT settings that I rename for my own use?
Because after I dragged the standard fields to the right “fields to appear in listing for”m and renamed them, there are still no fields under the “custom field” panel at the left side, below the
“standard field” and “predefined fields” panels on the CPT settings.Hi,
Thanks for the advice.
1) Would it be easier then to get my developer to create more levels of sub categories and I create filters for each set of sub-categories?
2) When you say “You might consider using Custom Post Types like:
– Sector (Shows up on Map)
– Mall (links to sector, shows up on sector listing)
– Shop (links to mall, shows up on mall listing)”Do you mean
CPT: Sector
Category: Mall
Sub category: Shop?3) Is it also possible to have different set of filters for different sub categories of dining, shopping, services if I do it the way you described above? ie
CPT: Sector
Cats: -Mall
Sub-cats: – Shopping }
– Dining } Shopping, dining and services have their own set of filters
– Services }Hi Alex,
Ok I got it. It overlapped with the homepage link so I was clicking on the homepage link all the time.
Since each CPT has their own fields, which form/CPT does the “add listing” follow?
How do I add my other “Add CPT” links to the menu?
Will I be able to customise that field with the help of a developer?
Hi,
Thanks for the response.
However, the options I have are long, e.g. Under Asian, there is Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Local, Peranakan and the list goes on. ie Under each category, there is a long list of sub-categories. Hence, I would like to display only the main categories, and only when the user clicks on one, then there will be a dropdown to display the options for that category.
Also, I already am using Categories for the type of eatery like Restaurant, Cafes, Takeaways and a sub category for Asian,European so there is no sub-sub category for me to nest the specific cuisines under their parent cuisines.
Hence, I was thinking of just doing a multi-select field, but to have it in a drop-down form where clicking on one option opens up the sub-options under that main option.

It’s actually “Create default GeoDirectory pages”
I’ve run the setup already but all the GD pages are still not there.
I don’t think it has to do with the wizard because when I first installed GD, the GD pages were already there even before I went through the setup wizard.
Now what has happened is that all the GD pages disappeared.
If I get the theme guys to check, they’ll probably say I don’t know why your plugin pages disappeared. You’ve got to check with your plugin developer on how your plugin works.
Hi,
I managed to solve the problem with your links. I thought easyupdates was enough but it could only work if I installed easythemes as well. Thanks!
This reply has been marked as private.Thank you Guust. I managed to download it in zip according to your instructions. However, when I tried to install the plugin, I got
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: geodirectory-2.0.0.33.zip
Unpacking the package…Installing the plugin…
Destination folder already exists. /home/thefoodl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/geodirectory/
Plugin installation failed.
I’ve already installed easy updates plugin so I’m not sure what went wrong. I’ll post my login details in the next post in case you need it to check. Thank you!
