I appreciate all your help. I had a few more questions.
Can the geov1backup folder be deleted?
How many Tables does Version 2 need?
It looks I currently have 23 Tables with geodir in their name. Are they all needed for Version 2?
Thanks,
Kevan Pewitt

The GeoDirectory plugin loads hundreds of Options in to this table. I am trying to determine if many of these Options are related to Version 1 and are no longer needed by GD Version 2. If so, what is the best way to clean out all the old Version 1 Bloat that was left behind after the update?
I have attached a Screenshot.
April 10, 2019 at 10:29 pm in reply to: In V2, is there a way to add a visible Top description area to a CPT #479980Thanks! I will take a look at it. I am also looking using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin.
April 10, 2019 at 9:49 pm in reply to: In V2, is there a way to add a visible Top description area to a CPT #479968Hi Alex, I tried editing the Archive Template with some text to test it on a Custom Post Type. It adds the text to all the Custom Post Type Archive, Custom Post Type Tag pages and the Custom Post Type Category pages. I don’t see a setting to change the Archive Template on Category or Tag Pages.
In Version 1, I was able to add a Visible Description to the CPT Archive page that did not show up on the Category Pages or Tag Pages https://geodirv1site.wpengine.com/places-to-visit/ This example is CPT Archive page with distinct intro text that does not show up on this CPT Category page like this: https://geodirv1site.wpengine.com/places-to-visit/parks/
That is the root of the problem. I want the CPT Archive page to have an intro paragraph that does not show up on Category or Tag Pages.
April 10, 2019 at 9:07 pm in reply to: In V2, is there a way to add a visible Top description area to a CPT #479948Thanks Alex! I am working on the GD Archive Template. I see there is also an Archive Item Template. What is the difference between the two?
April 10, 2019 at 3:51 am in reply to: In V2, is there a way to add a visible Top description area to a CPT #479723I am sorry. I am an end user and not a developer. Maybe I am not using the correct terms to describe the problem. I will try one more time.
Using version 1, I set up several custom post types.
Places to Visit is a CPT I use. You can view the Page it creates here: https://houstonprimerealty.com/places-to-visit/
On the setting page for the Places to Visit CPT there is box labeled Description. In Version 1, you could enter text or HTML for headings and it would show up at the top of this page and be visible just like it is for the Category Description.
After converting to Version 2, there is still a Description box on the CPT settings page, but the text or HTML that is entered there does not show up on the CPT page. I am trying to find out why this worked in Version 1 and does not work in Version 2.
Using the Description box to add text or HTML to the top of the Custom Post Type page was easy. I am trying to see if there is another similarly easy way to do this if the Description Box will no longer serve that function.
You suggested editing the Archive page template. Is there a way to do that, that I can have different output for each Custom Post Type and only show on the Individual CPT page like this page https://houstonprimerealty.com/places-to-visit/ ?
It seems like if all the different Custom Post Types use the same Archive Page template they would all be affected by any edits to the template.
April 9, 2019 at 11:06 pm in reply to: In V2, is there a way to add a visible Top description area to a CPT #479676I see how that can be done on a specific category of a custom post type.
What I am trying to do is add details to the top of a Custom Post Type Page like we were able to do in Version 1 using the Description Field. Here is an example of the way I did it on my old site that used Version 1 prior to updating to Version 2 https://geodirv1site.wpengine.com/places-to-visit/
This is a Development Site that I saved that still uses Version 1.
In my Version 2 site, it does not appear even though the same codes is in the Description field of the CPT. https://houstonprimerealty.com/places-to-visit/
We are testing it now. It is posting the text GD Archive at the top of the page on all CPT, Category, Tag Archives. It appears to be a hyperlink back to that Archives. Is this a bug or intentional? If intentional can the text be edited or removed?
I wanted to check and see if you were still working on a solution for this?
