For the margin, add this to GD > design > scripts > custom css
.home .geodir_full_page .geodir-widget:first-child { margin-top: 0px; }That image doesn’t look bad on my laptop, but on smaller laptop it can be a bit big.
This is webdesign 101, nothing to do with our plugin, support is limited to use the plugin not personalize your home page.

1) if you adjust the height via CSS, the image will squeezed. You need to use an image that is already of the desired ratio. There are several other way to do this, but that would require either a slider plugin that will use the image as background of a predefined space or you-d need to write custom html and css.
2) We’d need to see this to comment.
3) The ribbon is part of the map, if you remove the map you remove the ribbon, there is nothing you can do about it.

You need to add this:

add the php snippet provided by that plugin to show its accept TOS widget.
