Featured will be the default sort for Archive pages (Category / CPT), and for searches if nothing is entered in the near field. otherwise they are sorted by proximity.

The theme adds css to any iframes (bad practice).

This still in Custom CSS should do it:

they are asked an email to register an account and an email (not even mandatory) for each listing they add.

The email field on the add listing page is not automatically filled with the email of the account.

There is absolutely no relation between the email address of a listing and the email address of an account.

There is no way to make a field of a listing read-only, because it isn’t logically needed.

What if someone really needs to change the email address of their listing?

If you want to dig into the functions of the add listing form, you can probably change this, however this goes way beyond support.
