1) that’s coming from the theme used. You can hide it with this custom css:

.geodir_advance_search #Subheader {
    display: none;
}

2) that’s a widget and there is an option in widgets to set the width to 100%.

I think this are part of the chosen.js script that we use for the select fields.

Probably will have to hack it to make it translatable. I flagged this for the developers. They’ll let you know as soon as they find a solution.
