on mobile it is probably not working because you are using either chrome or safari that require a SSL certificate to be installed on your website. They do not allow GeoLocation on insecure websites.

On desktop, if you close your browser and come back it will retain your position only if you authorize the browser to remember your choice to share your location.

with the image format used for most of your listings, the only solution I see is something like this:

.geodir-bubble_image .geodir_thumbnail {
    background-size: contain;
    left: 80px;
}

However it is far from ideal… I asked to Stiofan if there is anything else that can be easily changed with just CSS.
