February 5, 2016 at 6:44 pm in reply to: not display Popular Categories on search results page – possible ? #117823
oh wait, think i found it:
Appearance > widgets > GD Search Top Section
geez
but any idea on how to display the categories that the search results are found in?
thanks
wow, outstanding!
regarding the customizations, do you mean that you modded the theme core, or do you mean that you used the theme as-is but changed the pics, rearranged stuff (but within the x theme system)?
what i mean is can you update the theme core straightaway or do you need to re-hack the files once you do a theme upgrade?
really really great site, congrats 🙂
better yet would be to display the cat list with cats evenly spaced, and maybe with a pic or icon, see pic

January 31, 2016 at 5:30 pm in reply to: display category description on homepage – possible ? #114690think anyone might do this as a gd job?
would love to display a short cat descrip under each cat name on the homepage (but not in small devices)
i’d love a way to have multiple sliders on the same page, would be most cool, a number of sliders support this, for example the bxslider, jssor, others
http://bxslider.com/examples/multiple-slideshows
https://wordpress.org/plugins/jssor-slider/
http://www.jssor.com/ (amazing examples)https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-product-slider/ (pretty sure this supports multiple woocommerce sliders on the same page)
i sent a note to the woothemes guys to see if they have any workaround or if they have any plans to allow multiple sliders on the same page, will report back
i’d love to have something like the following horizontal/vertical sliders all on the homepage (different slide times/effects, different number of slides per slider, etc):
new listings
new events
upcoming events
category-specific listings (a few categories, each with its own slider)
recent posts
random listings
random eventsi know it seems like a lot (i’d actually have only like three sliders) but i’ve seen some sites like this (maybe not with all of the above enabled but you get the idea)
January 31, 2016 at 3:13 pm in reply to: if listing has no image(s), then do not display placeholder image – possible ? #114631i haven’t had a chance to try, switching hosts, but would love to know if anyone can get something like this to work
here’s another nice look with an image (but it’s not a slider, but still looks good) and the search stuff layered on top, the search boxes even become sticky:
what was the issue? how did you fix it?
thanks
January 27, 2016 at 3:44 pm in reply to: Siteground hosting with SuperCacher and Cloudflare CDN – they ok with GD ? #112461thanks for that clarity, much appreciated, think i’m going to try cloudways to see if my woocommerce stuff can be faster
oh, geez, i was looking at the map shortcode, thanks for pointing out the search shortcode
January 27, 2016 at 3:38 pm in reply to: Siteground hosting with SuperCacher and Cloudflare CDN – they ok with GD ? #112454just to be clear
Cloudflare is OK, as long you disable Rocket Loader:
https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/known-issues/#rocketloaderdo you mean that Cloudflare can work with GD Booster enabled as well, so long as Rocket Loader is turned off?
or do you mean Cloudflare, but not with GD Booster enabled, can work with geodirectory plugin so long as Rocket Loader is disabled?
thanks
