August 18, 2018 at 7:42 am in reply to: Advance search autocomplete not working, advance form not showing #442921Hi Marc,
Thanks for reporting this, this was a bug in core if the main CPT slug has changed, i have fixed it now and applied the patch to your site. (i have also added some CSS fixes for the layout, this will be in next release)
Thanks,
Stiofan
I can’t recreate this on my localhost with Genesis.
Can you please provide FTP details and i will debug it.Thanks,
Stiofan
If it’ used as intended then i don’t see any problems with it, i can see many big and small players doing exactly the same thing we are doing except our system is intended to be used by the copyright holder.
Again, if you don’t feel comfortable using it then that is your choice.
Thanks,
Stiofan
If you put a tripadvisor url into facebook post it still pulls the info even though it might be against the TOS (depending how you look at it). There are other services from google and other big players that do the same thing, we are doing nothing more than what they do, if they are ok doing it then so are we. If you are not happy to use it then you have that option not to 🙂
As Mark said, this is intended for use to pre populate your add listing for with your own business data, it does not matter if the site claims certain copyrights, you are still the copyright holder.

There are different ways to solve the problem, usually we do it via zipcode, we can populate an array with zip codes or the start of zipcodes and assign that to a region name, that might be better then just naming the region as the country but it means finding all the zipcode prefixes of that area.

I’m still not entirely sure what you are trying to achieve, the image is not supposed to be sully visable, this is so we can apply a prallax effect, this parallax effect is less and less as the screen shrinks but i don’t see any image jump like u mention? Can u tell me how to recreate the problem?

Hi Dirk,
I was wondering when we were going to have this conversation 🙂
We do nothing more that what facebook does when you enter a url in their new post form, or what many other big players do like even google, the difference being that our system is intended to be used by the copyright holder (or someone that has their permission) to pre populate the add listing form with their own listing info.
There will be some that agree and some that disagree, but it is labeled “use at your own risk” and i deem this risk to be very low, if you deem it to be high then feel free not to activate it.
Thanks,
Stiofan
Please provide wp-admin and ftp login in a private reply and i’ll apply the fix.
Thanks,
Stiofan
it would add the country twice, but we can make it say anything like /aruba-region/
You can hide the region part of the url under GD>PermalinksStiofan
Great! 🙂
SIv2 only works with GDv2, check ur account area now.
Stiofan
It does not look like FB want to allow these permissions very easily, we are already testing other solutions: https://wpgeodirectory.com/social-importer-v2-beta-released/
Thanks,
Stiofan
