Cannot Install Location Manager 1.5.31

    Every time we try to upload and install the newer version of Location Manager 1.5.31 (we now have 1.4.7 ), we get this error message:

    “Destination folder already exists. …./wp-content/plugins/geodir_location_manager/
    Plugin install failed.”

    If they plugin already exists, why are we being shown the message that we should update to the new version?

    We are running WordPress 4.7.3

    This is really a waste of time, and we are starting to suspect it’s so we run out of time on our one year subscription and have to pay for the newer version.

    Hopefully this isn’t true.

    Hi Taste,

    Why aren’t you using the auto update? https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/faqs/why-do-my-automatic-updates-fail/ . If that doesn’t work, you must delete the older version and upload the latest version. If you need further help, please share WP temp admin access to your site so we can take a better look.     Auto update would be great, but it says next to our current plugin version on WordPress (Installed Plugins section), “Automatic update is unavailable for this plugin.”

    Interesting suggestion about deleting old version. Not sure of the best way to delete the old version, and if this would wipe out any settings we already have.

    No, we were doing the update directly through the Plugins section of WordPress.

    We have now added the licensing keys in as described in the GeoDirectory control panel.

    In the WordPress plugins section it does still say, “Automatic update is unavailable for this plugin.”

    We think we are set, however in the documentation you provided it says, “In future, your Addons will be able to be updated with a single click, just like any other WordPress plugins.” We are looking for exactly where we should do the single click.

    Hi Taste,

    After you activate your licence try going to the Dashboard>Updates and “check again” button to make it then check for the updates, then update it.

    If you still have problems please share WP admin and FTP details and i will resolve things for you. Please use the private reply option below.

    BTW, here is the site where it’s in use, http://www.popuprestaurants.com/

    Geodirectories were the only WordPress plugins that really met our needs and fit our vision for this site. We are planning on adding a few more enhancements in the near future.
