Click on the phone number – Track as conversion

    Hi,

    I have created a website for listings. Users register, add their locations and phone number on website. Now, I would like to track it as a conversion when people click on the phone number to contact the registered users.

    Example: When people reached on following page and try to contact by calling them http://driverstation.in/places/eric-drose/.

    For that, I have generated tracking code from Google AdWords. Now I would like to add that “on-click” action on website. Where should add? I researched an couldn’t find the file location to add that code.

    You might use a Badge for the phone number, have you tried it?

    Hello All.

    I got to put Google Analytics into my GD, this is feeding data into my account and getting data for pages visits and also I tried one Click Event when click on Food, and is working… It shows data when clicking on any link that contains “Food”…

    What I do not get working is data when I set it up to track the Click on Phone with neither without delay in firing the trigger… it does not send me any data with the parameter “tel” that is into phone URL.

    Watching this post the only think I did not do is the Badge for the phone number that Mr. Rolling suggested.

    I read once and again the documents, but I do not know how / where to set this badge up.

    Can you help me with more information please?

    For phone numbers GD Post Meta will automatically show the number as a tel: link. To track clicks on that you will need to contact the tracker provider and ask them how to set it up.

    In the past some members have created their own customizations that are “click to reveal” so that they can track the click on that “click to reveal” element before the click on the number.

    The developers are considering adding a “click to reveal” element in the future but for now that would require your own customization.
