    Hi

I’ve got a few questions about the Geodirectory plugin for the site I’m building. The plugin works great. I made some changes to fit it to my business. After this next steps are adding the other GD-plugins to monitise the site.

Few issues I would like your help with.

    1. The listings page gives a big white space right of the list with business names. I dont want to show reviews, pinpoint and favorites. So I added css with display: none; visibility: hidden;.
That didn”t do the job. Something is in the way and also breaks the names of the businesses too short. (https://movechamps.nl/praktijken/fysiotherapie/). I also tried to set the Width of listing right section and the content sectio on 50%. That also didnt work.

Is there a way to get rid of the white space and the map bigger?

I made an alternative page with shortcodes that looks like I would want it, but I think that page would have to be build for every category. (https://movechamps.nl/listing2/).

    2. Is it possible to do the detail page without sidebar? Here also space is kept white.
    https://movechamps.nl/praktijken/netherlands/zuid-holland/den-haag/handcentra-en-polscentrum/xpert-clinic-den-haag/

    3. To monitise the site I want to limit the text in the profile in the free option. The paid subscription should give the business more text. Is that possible with the Custom Posts Type plugin? Or is there a better way?

4 The name of thet business is not in the detail page. How can I add it?

5 Is it possible to add a business as example? I tried that with the GD demo businesses, but I have to give them a category. Is there a better way to have a example, but dont show them in results?

    Thanks, Peter

    Hi Peter

    1. To make the map bigger on https://movechamps.nl/praktijken/fysiotherapie/
first change the sidebar width at GD > Design > Listings tab, and then
change the map widget settings in the GD Listings Right Sidebar section.
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/layout/#directory
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs/widgets/#listing-map

If you want to show the 2 Grid by default, select it at GD > Design > Listings tab > Listing content section view.

    2. Hiding the sidebar will remove a lot of links a user may need, but you can remove most at GD > Design > Detail tab, and then apply some CSS to hide the sidebar, and widen the content section.

    3. You will need the Pricing Manager for that and the Invoicing plugin:
    https://wpgeodirectory.com/downloads/pricing-manager/
    https://wpinvoicing.com/

    4. That seems to be something with your theme.

    5. Not sure I understand. You want to create a fake listing to show potential customers?

    Thanks

    Hi Guust,

    Thanks, that was quick!

    1. I set GD > Design > Listings tab to 50 and widget to 100% (also tried 500px). Doesn’t work.

    2. Okay. I’ll give it a try

    3. Sounds great!

    4. I use Enfold -> I’ll ask them.

    5. That indeed is the idea.

    Best regards, Peter

    1. Some themes need CSS coding to make the GD sections change in width. Enfold is a bit special in that regard: https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/search/?bbp_search=enfold+sidebar

    5. One suggestion is to create a Custom Post Type using the Custom Post Type addon that you only use to show some sample listings.

    Thanks

1 Hmm. Too bad. That needs some studiing. I can out sitebar to 50% in Enfold. Then it looks good but ruins sitebar on other pages.

    5. Okay

    Enjoy the weekend, Peter

    1. But even with the sidebar at 50% there remains a big white spcae in the content box that isnt used.

    Also Enfold?

The big white spaced is only there because you chose to delete the content of that section.
You can change the look of the listview with CSS. That is not Enfold related.

With CSS you can target the sidebar of any page differently, you can target the Listings page only if you like.

I expected the white space to be gone because I used “display:none” and even !important. But that didn’t do the trick.

Now I set width to 150%. Strange but that did the trick.

    Thanks, I’ll keep on studiing.
