Please post URL and WP Admin details of both sites you are exporting from and importing to.
Or compare an export from both sites, and compare the columns. Then compare all custom fields and category IDs.
    Thanks

To clarify, and answer your question, No, we are not aware of any GD issues that would prevent you from exporting from one GD site and importing into another.

As Guust points out, though, settings must be aligned.

Try it out and then let us know what errors you run into and we will happily guide you towards a solution.

When you attempt the export and the re-import, what errors are you getting?

Copying tables from one database to another will normally not work. Database tables need to be created from the WP admin area to make sure all the connections are made between various tables.

The “Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons” error is a WP error, see https://wpgeodirectory.com/support/topic/cant-import-csv-3/#post-458923

Please post URL and WP Admin details of both sites. You might have done this before, but there are 5 pages now of changing details, so please post all the relevant current URLs and WP admin details if you need us to have a closer look at anything.

    Thanks

What’s the browser protection? Can you turn that off?

    Hello,

http://www…..com/sandbox/ – lets call it the sandbox.

The sandbox site is working, the data is working, OSM is working, and it appears that the conversion is finished and the plugins are more up to date, but still need another update.

If the goal is to move the data from the sandbox to the live site, then:

    1. Install GDV2 on the live site, configure Places custom fields to match the sandbox.
    2. Export a dummy listing from the live site.
    3. Export the data from the sandbox.
    4. Merge the sandbox data into the CSV from the live site, being careful not to change column order.
    5. Import into the live site.

If you run into a problem with that you can post the files back here and we can take a look.

    Your conversion has not worked.
Most likely because you copied tables from one database to another instead of running the conversion step by step as per https://wpgeodirectory.com/docs-v2/geodirectory/installation/#convert

If you have one site that is now working, and you need a copy of that sandbox site somehow, then I suggest to use https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/ or cloning the site as per https://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress

I am not sure what you are trying to achieve with having two copies of the same test site …

If the sandbox site is working and the database it uses is an exact copy of the live database apart from the V1-V2 conversion, then one of the options is to
    * connect to the new database in the config file of the live site instead of the current live database
    * delete all GD plugins from the live site using FTP and copying all V2 GD plugin files from the sandbox setup to the live site using FTP.

    Thanks
