How to add Carousels on Homepage for Non-GD Theme

    Hi guys,
    In GDv1 + Supreme Directory theme: There was the (GD home content section) where I could apply carousels on the Homepage by adding widgets (GD > Popular Post Views widget).

    But in GDV2 + Astra Theme, there is no such section where I can apply carousel on the Homepage by adding widgets (GD > Listings widget)

    What do you recommend as the best way to implement this?

    Please let me know the specifics so that I can advise my developer accordingly.

    Use a shortcode builder and add shortcodes to your site front page. You will have to skip the GD Slideshow, though, because that isn’t available.

    Or try a builder with a posts slider option

    So I have 2 options correct?
    1. Shortcode builder
    2. Blocks

    Thinking long term is it better to go with Blocks?

    Ok…Here’s an update

    What I really want is the widget functionality & options that was possible in GDv1 widget
    Example: Carousel CPT has no posts.
    I want the ability to hide this if no posts (This option is available as a check box in the GD > Listings widget)

    From what I understand my developer told me…This is not possible with GD Blocks (I cannot see the GD > Listings widget in Appearance -> Widgets area)

    If that is the case…. Is this only possible with Shortcode Builder?
    (I will be able the GD > Listings widget in Appearance -> Widgets area & make changes as required)

    Any option for an element is available in each format, shortcodes blocks and widgets.
